Website maintenance in Edina, from an Edina studio

Our office is at 4951 W 77th St, Suite 133, off Highway 100 near I-494, which makes Edina the one city on this site where we are not describing a drive. Edina businesses compete on trust rather than price: medical and dental practices, home care agencies, law and financial firms, salons, and the specialty retail at 50th & France. On a trust site, stale details cost more. A new-patient page that lists a doctor who left in the spring, a home care agency whose counties list is a year old, a shop whose holiday hours disagree with Google, a form that stopped sending in August: none of it is dramatic, and all of it tells a careful visitor that nobody is watching. We built the site for CityLight Home Care here in Edina, and we keep sites like it updated, patched, backed up, and current for a fixed monthly price, with the owner still able to change the urgent things from a phone.

Keeping Edina websites right

The Edina sites we are asked to look at tend to be a few years old and well made, which is exactly when the trouble starts. The agency that built them has moved on or changed its name, the plugins have not been updated since launch, the staff page is out of date, and the only person who knows the hosting password left. Edina also has an unusual share of organizations with real obligations attached to their website. Clinics and home care agencies that bill Medical Assistance fall under the federal Section 504 web accessibility rule, with compliance dates of May 11, 2027 for providers with fifteen or more employees and May 10, 2028 for smaller ones. Firms that collect personal data through a form have the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act's privacy-notice expectations to keep straight. Keeping a site honest and current here is a monthly job, not a launch task.

Trust is the product on an Edina website

A visitor choosing a dentist on France Avenue, a financial advisor near Southdale, or a home care agency for a parent is trying to avoid a bad decision, not find the best price. The site is a sample of how carefully you work. That means the things a care plan watches are the things that matter most here: hours that match the Google Business Profile, including holiday hours, which Google asks businesses to confirm even when they are unchanged; a staff page that is right the week someone joins or leaves; prices and insurance details that match what the front desk says; and testimonials that are genuinely yours, since the Federal Trade Commission's 2024 rule on reviews bans fake or purchased ones. We check the profile against the site every quarter and post staff and price changes the week they happen.

What keeping a home care site current taught us

CityLight Home Care is an Edina agency, and the pages on a home care site that go stale first are not the ones you would guess. Job posts, wage ranges, and the counties served rot fastest, because they change constantly and the office manager updating them also runs scheduling and payroll. Minnesota DHS has paused new 245D licenses from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027, which means existing providers are competing for the same referrals and the same direct support professionals, and a careers page that is three months out of date is lost hires. A plan keeps the counties, the wage ranges, and the open shifts current, keeps intake forms thin and routed to a person, and runs the quarterly accessibility pass that the Section 504 rule makes a standing obligation for Medicaid-funded providers.

We can walk over

For an Edina client, onboarding can happen at your front desk. We inventory every login in person, photograph the space if the site needs it, and train the two people who will post the urgent things on exactly those tasks. After that the work runs on email, a shared folder, and a short monthly report, the same as for a client in Duluth, because nothing about patching software or testing a form gets better in a conference room. The office is in Pentagon Park, a few minutes from 50th & France, Southdale, and the 70th & France corridor, and we are the only web studio we know of that is actually based in the city. National vendors run Edina landing pages from elsewhere; we can show you the door.

What a plan does

Every week, month, quarter, and year

The same checklist for every site on a plan, written up in a short monthly report so you can see it happened.

  1. Every week

    • Core, plugin, and theme updates, applied after a backup and checked afterward
    • Security scan, firewall log, and failed-login review
    • Uptime and SSL certificate checks, with the alert going to us
    • Spam cleanup in forms and comments
  2. Every month

    • Your content posted: news, events, calendar, staff, photos, prices, documents
    • Every form submitted and the notification email confirmed to arrive
    • Broken links and 404s found and fixed
    • A short report: what changed, what we fixed, what we noticed
  3. Every quarter

    • Speed measured against Core Web Vitals; oversized images and scripts trimmed
    • Accessibility pass on new pages, images, and PDFs
    • Google Business Profile compared to the site field by field
    • Analytics review: what people searched for, which pages they left from
  4. Every year

    • Domain, SSL, hosting, and plugin licenses renewed on time, in your name
    • A full restore from backup, tested on a staging copy
    • Content audit: stale pages archived, rewritten, or redirected
    • Every login inventoried and handed to you in writing, again

FAQ

Website maintenance in Edina

Is there any real advantage to hiring the studio down the street?

For the monthly work, no. Updates, backups, monitoring, and posting happen the same way from anywhere, and we will not pretend otherwise. The advantage is at the edges: onboarding in person, photographing your actual space and staff, sitting with the person who owns your intake process, and the fact that when something breaks the person who answers is a few minutes away and already knows your site. If none of that matters to you, hire on skill and ignore the map.

What does website maintenance cost in Edina?

The Twin Cities agencies that publish care-plan prices, read in October 2026, run $50 to $100 a month for updates, backups, and monitoring alone, $149 to $474 for plans with one to two hours of content work, and $749 to $850 for four to five hours. National WordPress maintenance vendors publish $59 to $395. We do not publish a rate card. After a free look at your site you get a fixed monthly price in writing, and your address does not change it.

Our site is on Squarespace. Do we still need a plan?

Less of one. Squarespace handles hosting, the certificate, and the software, so paying for the Protect level would mostly duplicate what you already have. What the platform does not handle is the content, the forms, the accessibility of what you upload, the domain renewal, and whether the site still says the right things. If someone has to post staff changes, prices, or news most months, the Update level fits a Squarespace site exactly as well as a WordPress one.

Our site was built by an agency that no longer answers. Can you take it over?

Yes, and that describes most of the sites on our plans. We start with a free thirty-minute look, then a full backup and a written inventory of every login before anything changes. If the former agency still holds the domain or the hosting, recovering it is the first job, and it is the most common emergency we are called into. Sites we did not build usually need a few hours of cleanup, quoted in writing before the first month starts.
